The house begins

Many of you know that JJ and I have contracted to build a house in NSL. After weeks of thinking, more weeks of designing, a scary day of signing and then more weeks of waiting for a permit, we are finally ready to dig.

This is what our lot looks like today. I can't believe how a few stakes and some spray paint can make me so happy.

More pictures to come as the house grows, target completion date is July and then we are gladly taking visitors. :-)

  1. It is SO fun to watch a house be built and put all your own ideas into the interior. You'll LOVE it! There are still lots of things I miss from our house in WA that we got to pick out ourselves. It is scary to sign -- no matter who you are or how confident you are about the decision -- that much money makes your head spin!

  5. YAY!! That is so exciting! It's always fun when you get to see it built from the ground up. I was at Jennie's awhile back and that area seems great! Nyla will love it there. Good luck with everything!

  11. So happy for you! I bet it will be fun to see all the steps of the house being built. I'm still sad you are moving away from us, even if it is only 1/2 a mile north. I just found out you are moving this weekend. Are you really able to get together this week? If so, great, but I totally understand if you find yourself feeling busy. Maybe I could come help you!
